  1. Reciprocity ONLY applies to an exemption of a trade exam, it does not waive any other license requirement.
  2. Contractor has not been sanctioned for violations (disciplinary actions) by the reciprocal board for past three (3) years.
  3. There are no time limitations as to how long the license must be held.
    •  Exceptions:
      • California– contractor must be licensed and have no sanctions for 5 years.
      • Florida– contractor must have held license/have appropriate experience and have no sanctions for 5 years.
      • Nevada– contractor must be licensed and have no sanctions for 4 years.
  1. Each reciprocity agreement between Louisiana and the reciprocal state varies and may not cover ALL classifications/trades. Some agreements may be for only one or two trades.
